30-04-2009: She needed Rs. 16Lakhs for her Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) operation at Christian College, Vellore.
Tata Foundation promised to donate 6L provided she can give a letter from her father's work place (he works in electricity department in Vellore) about his wage, medical insurance he can avail, etc. They are having problem getting the letter. Pretty decent amount of money has been raised (around 10L if Tata Foundation's money is included). Since the condition is getting critical with each passing day, the doctors are giving their co-operation, by telling that they will go ahead with operation if we can promise to raise the money by the time of her discharge from the hospital. We need to follow up with this by raising funds from NRIs.
TV9 has taken a video clip and the officials said that they will pass on the message to Eenadu and AndhraJyothi so that they can publish it in their papers but it is still pending. Might take 2 to 3 days more for things to materialize from the media front.
