17-09-2008: Galden is moved to general ward from ICU on last Friday. He is doing good and interested to go to school. He studied upto 9th class. I visited him on Saturday.
I purchased the medicines Cyclosporine 100 mg of 2 boxes from Novartis which costs Rs.12k (Rs.14k without concession). This is sponsored by Mr. Devendra & Co. We are going to handover this medicine on coming Saturday.

23-08-2008: He is a 16 yrs old from Nepal, needs financial support for his kidney transplant operation. We took the initiative to publish this news in Telugu News Papers (Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi and Sakshi). By seeing this news in Eenadu, Mr. Devendra and his friends gave us Rs. 12k to support this boy. Mr. Bijo, Medico Social worker @ St. John’s Hospital gave the information to Times of India, The Hindu and Bangalore Mirror news papers. He got the support for his operation with the help of public and has Rs.40k excess with him. He has to use Cyclosporine medicine lifelong which costs Rs. 7k per month.
Pavan Pyda talked to Novartis Manager to get the concession of Rs.1k per month. Disha and Pavan Pyda visited Galden and handed over Cyclosporine medicine for 2 months (costs Rs.12k). Galden’s brother and father got jobs as Security guards and earning Rs.8k per month. They don’t need any help right now. We may support for his education for next academic year.

Galden Gurung is 16yrs old, suffering with End Stage Renal Disease. He has been diagnosed with the Disease at the age of 10yrs. He is on treatment since then. The child came to St. John hospital for evaluation in the month of June 2007; he was put on hemodialysis in June 2007 since then he is on hemodialysis.
The family is running a small restaurant and their monthly income is Rs.3000/- . There are no other sources of income. The family spent approximately Rs. 3 lakhs so far for hemodialysis and medications (one year).The family needs to mobilize an additional amount of Rs.3 lakhs in order to proceed with kidney transplantation operation.
