KKS Orphanage received Suchithra, a 3 month old baby girl from Cuddalore govt. hospital. After her mother's death, father abandoned her. In their baby care centre, KKS volunteers gave due attention to the baby.
They provided utmost care for one month. Due to frequent illness of the baby, they admitted her at DR. Mehta's Hospital as they have already admtited 2 babies at Sundaram Medical Foundation.
The doctors diagnosed that the baby has Hydrocephalus. The baby was in need of a surgery that needed a SHUNT. Doctors advised to change the shunt.
Hospital has come forward to perform surgery at free of cost, but KKS has to borne the cost of surgicals. The operation was performed on the last week of June. KKS has yet to pay the bills.
As there was no money, KKS opted for Indian shunt which costs Rs. 8000, when she was operated. But on July 3rd, the shunt got bulged and all of a sudden the baby had to be taken to the hospital.
This time the doctors might prefer the imported shunt that costs Rs. 16000. Overall, the cost of surgery would be around Rs. 20 to 25,000.
