Prasanthi, Founder of TMAD went as a volunteer with two more groups to Naguladinne village near Kurnool (70 kms from Kurnool). This was on 7th October. We gave 8k as monetary support other than offering help in managing the procurement. Second trip, two of our volunteers, Kasyap and Ravi Shankar visited few more villages near Kurnool (90 to 100 kms from Kurnool) along with AID India volunteers. We provided 10k amount.

This time we are planning to go to a flood affected village near Mehaboob Nagar or Kurnool and distribute basic Survival Kits which will address the immediate basic needs of flood affected victims. These kits would be distributed to over 300 families in flood hit areas. The approximate cost for family is 1000 Rs/- and we can reach out to 300 families with a 3 lakhs budget. We are also trying to reach "Wardha Mission" (a NGO group )to buy water filters. This would be very useful for the people. It costs around Rs.500 for each filter which will remove flouride and arsenic from drinking water.

We have drawn out a detailed itemized requirement list for the survival kits based on the financial support which we need for this program.

Basic Survival Kit
After analysis we have come up with a basic survival kit for the people which would cost Rs 1000/- and would contain the following survival necessities.
1. One Cotton Saree - 200 Rs. to 250 Rs.
2. One Lungi - 100 Rs
3. One Blanket - 90 Rs.
4. One Mat - 80 Rs. to 100 Rs.
5. One Bucket - 40 Rs. to 50 Rs.
6. water filter - 500 Rs.
7. A basic cosmetic set - 200 Rs. (Includes Bath soaps, cloth soaps, utensils soaps, hair oil, mirror, comb, tooth paste, tooth brush)
8. One Tarpaulin Sheet of 6 X 4 size - 50 Rs.
The total funds required for providing a single basic survival kit for 300 families would be approximately Rs 1000 X 300 families= 3,00,000 Rs.
